Cheating on the hCG Diet: What To Do When You’ve Screwed Up
I’m writing because it’s GOING to happen. Maybe not this round. Oh let’s hope not this round. But at some point or another, if you have a bunch of weight you’re trying to lose, you will make a mistake. And since you will likely feel like cheating again in the future at some point, I have some great tips for “cheating” smart on the hCG Diet that you can check out
As someone who came across this post through this particular google search said it, “I ate 2 peanut butter sandwiches while on my 5th day of hCG.” If that’s something like what you did, you’re here to find out what will happen, and how to fix it right??
Rather than dwell on the bummer-ness of it all, let’s focus on what you can do, now, now that it’s “too late” to un-eat whatever you ate.
And lastly before we get started, one important thing:
If you are not using real hCG and are really struggling to not cheat due to feeling hungry, the non-real hCG is most likely a big part of the problem. hCG is a real hormone, not a placebo – you need to use the real thing to get the real effect of it. So if you bought your hCG from a local store like walgreens or walmart or GNC, or you purchased drops online that were already mixed, this is not real hCG, and this is definitely going to make you struggle.
Please see my resources for authentic prescription grade hCG online. I know it’s both popular to think all hCG is the same and tempting to buy something for 30 bucks off the shelf, but I promise, now is not the time to screw with your metabolism. As someone who has been maintaining my own hCG weight loss from the real hCG injections for 4 years, and seen many others not maintain, using the real hormone is one vital key for most!

I like to give you the DETAILS. The WHY and HOW of it all. In detail. Did I mention detail? But I get it. You are busy. You’re exhausted from work and your eyes start crossing after 300 words. Or you have ADD. Whatever the case, here’s a summary of the article, after which you will find the longer version.

Article Summary – the Short of it:
-
What Might Happen After you Cheat
- If you’re lucky, nothing happens, no gains and no loss. Weight loss continues.
- Small gain the day after the cheat but continued weight loss the following days.
- You lose the day after the cheat but weight loss stalls the next day.
- You may or may not gain but your weight loss stall for several days.
-
How To Fix The Cheat
- Apple Day After a Cheat May Not Be the Best Choice. Detailed post about that here: whether or not Apple Days are a good idea for cheats and stalls here
- EATING CLEAN for a few days after a cheat, where I ate only the protein and vegetables and ditched the melba and fruit entirely was a good way to fix a cheat.
- Drink enough WATER but don’t overdo it. Here’s my article on drinking water/liquids in a balanced way.
-
Why You Should Avoid Future Cheating
- Gaining Fat Happens Faster on hCG. With the hormone in your system, it appears to me that your body can actually gain fat stores much more quickly and when you cheat on this diet, it seems like you can mess up your fat to muscle weight loss ratio.
- Wasting Time/Getting Nowhere For a LOT of Effort and Self Control. If you do lots of what you might think of as minimal cheating throughout a whole round- say you consistently end up eating like 1000 calories on the diet- you may not gain, but you also likely won’t lose much if anything either
- Gaining Fat Happens Faster on hCG. With the hormone in your system, it appears to me that your body can actually gain fat stores much more quickly and when you cheat on this diet, it seems like you can mess up your fat to muscle weight loss ratio.
-
Don’t Let a Mistake Dictate The Overall Outcome!
- When you make a bad choice one day, this does not mean that you are a failure or that you don’t have what it takes to succeed- not at all. The people who succeed make mistakes. To follow through with success you have to be able to learn to move past them and continue to believe in yourself DESPITE those mistakes.
Main Article- Let’s Get Nitty Gritty Shall We?
The Aftermath: What Might Happen After Your Cheat
To be honest, there’s no way to be completely sure. It depends partially on your unique body’s response, but also depends on the type of cheat. Let’s NOT dwell on this too long, but just at least to prepare you for the basic things that usually happen – we’ll talk about it, we’ll be done with it, and we’ll move on to what you can DO about fixing your cheat.
- Best case scenario: nothing really happens. You don’t gain. You might not lose for a day but then weight loss continues as normal.
- More likely scenario: a small something happens. You have a gain- say 1.2 lbs. But then weight loss gets back to normal in the days after this
- The I-almost-thought-it-was-a-good-thing-scenario: You initially still have a loss the following day- perhaps even a bigger than normal one! But then in the ensuing days after that, you experience a stall in your weight loss.
- On rare occasions scenario: a bigger something happens. You may or may not have a gain, but your weight loss stalls for several days following the cheat, despite the fact that you are still eating 500 calories each day. This pretty much really sucks. I’ve had it happen.
Let’s FIX This Thing!
Some have the first thought to do an apple day- here is why I don’t feel this may be the best approach to fix a cheat.
Why An Apple Day After a Cheat May Not Be the Best Choice
Here’s the thing- apples, especially 4-6 apples have a lot of 2 things- carbs and sugar. So here’s what I’m thinking- most likely when you cheated you ate……something(s) with carbs and sugar and fat right? As much as you’d like to be able to say you just couldn’t help yourself you had to eat ten pounds of tomato salad, we all know that’s not what happened. :)-
Just to give you a comparison, if you eat six medium sized apples in one day on this protocol, you will be consuming approximately 114 grams sugar and 123.6 grams of net carbs. On a regular vlcd day you might consume only 32 grams sugar and 38 grams of net carbs. So 3-4 times as much carbs and sugar as a regular vlcd day.
I have a very detailed post on whether or not Apple Days are a good idea for cheats and stalls here.
How I Fix A Cheat on the hCG Diet
It took me awhile to figure this out, but I came to the conclusion that eating clean for a few days after a cheat, where I ate only the protein and vegetables and ditched the melba and fruit entirely was a good way to go- basically once again, helping your body clear those carbs out of our system by not eating yet more.
You can replace the calories you would have had from your fruits either with more P2 veggies, or if you want to do something “rogue” (off protocol) you can replace it with 0% FAGE greek yogurt (or some other fat free yogurt that is very low in carbs- double check labels as many fat free yogurts are not). I have done both and I feel they work well.
Water water water…still don’t over do it though!
Yes drink lots of water- water is always good. But even that you can drink too much of. What actually constitutes “lots” of water? I actually have an article on drinking water/liquids in a balanced way.
Why It’s Good to Avoid Future Cheating
You know that I feel a very important part of success is not beating yourself up over mistakes but rather making a plan, and moving on. For anyone who has done 2-3 rounds of this weight loss journey, I would venture to say 99.9% of them made at least 1 slip-up and cheated with at least one meal during the course of the 3-6 weeks. I probably had about 5-6 total cheat days between my 5 rounds of this protocol. Did not ruin my long term success- just took me a bit longer is all.
It is still good though to discuss why cheating on the this diet is something to avoid when at all possible- in case this helps you the next time major temptation arises. Certainly, if we can’t learn from our mistakes and the cheating becomes chronic or perpetual, you could really harm your body and you will not get where you want to go.
And I have some great tips to keep in your back pocket for cheating smarter on hCG when you DO find yourself in challenging situations.
1. Gaining Fat Happens Faster on hCG
hCG is not like other diets in more ways than one. You can achieve fast results, and you can lose results fast as well.
That crazy thing that no one can still logically explain where the body releases a lot of fat while on this diet? Well, it goes both ways- fat seems to become very volatile in our bodies while on this protocol- whether it’s going out or coming in.
Cheating on other diets isn’t as big a deal because the consequences are not as high- you body will not gain more fat than it normally would when you weren’t on other diets. So you can technically just take a day off if you want then go back to it.
With the hormone in your system, it appears to me that your body can actually gain fat stores much more quickly- like somehow the calories you eat are stored more efficiently as fat than in regular life. I can’t tell you how much or why but we have all seen it enough now to know, something strange goes on when you take in calories beyond 500-800 and consume fat.
Why else would you GAIN weight on hCG eating 1,000 calories a day? I would NEVER gain weight in regular life eating 1,000 calories a day- in fact, I’d definitely be losing weight. But on hCG, most people would gain fat.
Because of this, when you cheat on this diet, it seems like you can mess up your fat to muscle weight loss ratio. Even though muscle loss in general is pretty low, there is still some- when you are losing weight, you are losing a small amount of muscle- then when you cheat it seems like you’re gaining all fat, then when you re-lose that weight on the scale, you are losing once again a small amount of muscle- so what I’m saying it the 156 lbs you were the day before cheating? And now it took you 2 days to get back to 156lbs? I feel that a slightly larger amount of the 156lbs that is you after cheating is fat than before you cheated. I don’t know if that makes sense.
2. Wasting Time/Getting Nowhere For a LOT of Effort and Self Control
A 2nd reason it’s wise to avoid cheating on this journey if you can is that you are wasting time in the middle of doing something very difficult. It’s kind of like trying to eat a fancy $50 catered lunch while running 10mph on a treadmill. Any takers so I can shoot a quick video so we can all get a visual?
Essentially, it’s just one big mess and huge waste- I mean how long did it take you to make that fifty bucks?
If you do lots of what you might think of as minimal cheating throughout a whole round- say you consistently end up eating like 1000 calories on the diet- you may not gain, but you also likely won’t lose much if anything either- and I think we can all agree even living on 1000 calories a day is more like a walk through a long muddy puddle in your brand new 4 inch heels than a jaunt on a fresh spring day.
So here you are consistently cheating but still having a rough time every day for weeks on end and what do you get out of it? Nothing. No weight loss, nada.
You can see why this is all so pointless. Which is why I often advise people who ask me about it to simply abort the round early if they can’t get their head back in the game. That’s okay- to me better to recognize that you just can’t handle it right now and try again later than to spend so much time wasting time and emotional energy- in that case I think it’s a demoralizing experience that you will have to now recover form emotionally and you can save yourself that by just stopping early.
Don’t Let a Mistake Dictate The Overall Outcome!
Hey, you know what? I’ve eaten 2 porkchops sauteed in butter during the middle of my 5th round of this diet plan. Also multiple large handfuls of cashews. No it wasn’t a good choice at the time, but I did it, and guess what, I got over it, and I’m here still maintaining my weight loss from hCG over a year later now, so it didn’t ruin the whole thing.
Yep, it wasted time on the protocol- it wasn’t fun seeing the scale go up 2-3lbs overnight and then taking another 2 days to get back to where I was 4-5 days prior to that, essentially close to a whole week “lost”- but I got through it. So can you should this happen to you. I hope it won’t, but I’m just being realistic.
The most important thing is DON’T LET A MISTAKE DICTATE THE REST OF YOUR ROUND. When you make a bad choice one day, this does not mean that you are a failure or that you don’t have what it takes to succeed- not at all.
The people who succeed make mistakes. To follow through with success you have to be able to learn to move past them and continue to believe in yourself DESPITE those mistakes.
This is something I didn’t use to know. I used to think that I was the only one who screwed up and that meant I wouldn’t achieve what I saw others achieving. Then I read that people that people who succeed make mistakes too. NO WAY!! For real?
I have many stories going on in my life; many are still unfinished. Even this weight loss/weight maintenance journey is never fully over- but a chapter of it has closed enough that I feel I can confidently say yes it’s true, I am a person who has successfully gone through the process, and maintained the results for over a year, and I did make those mistakes along the way.
Successful people make mistakes- I’ve now experienced this. It feels good to know there’s hope. You WILL get through this- some days you won’t, but over the period of weeks, months, and years, you will get where you want to go with this journey if you stick to it.

Hi unfortunately I cheated for 3 days but I kept it like 700 calories a day . I did not gain any weight . I’m back in track for 3 days now eating very clean 500 calories but I been the same weight for 3 days. Did I ruined my last 5 days of hcg this is my fourth week
Jessica says
Can someone advise? I’ve been on hcg and had to do an unexpected break last Saturday (emergency family issue) I planned to go into phase 3 but it morphed into stress eating and completely cheating but not being on medication. I talked to diet doc and I restart my medication tomorrow but with one loading day. My diet was not good and not anywhere close to phase 3. I lost 21 lbs the first round so to only stress gain 5 back, I call that a win. So should I load only one day and get back to it?
Lucelle says
Hi Jessica,
This is Lucelle, Rayzel’s assistant. Nice to meet you! 🙂
Yes that’s totally a win. You can also do a clean loading day to not gain too much weight: http://hcgchica.com/loading-low-carb-clean-hcg-diet/
Hope that helps!

I have been diligently following the HCG diet using injections. I am relatively thinner so my weight loss has been slower. I want to celebrate a friends birthday and have a few vodka sodas this weekend. Would you recommend pausing/tapering off the HCG just for that day or just take the hit of alcohol and continue to stay on it? Love the website, so much helpful info!
Lucelle says
Hi Lori,
This is Lucelle, Rayzel’s assistant. Nice to meet you! 🙂
Yes, pausing the hCG is recommended for planned events like this.
Hope that helps!
Laura says
I was doing the injections but I never really stuck to it for the six weeks. So I went off finally. How long do I have to stay off before I try again? I never lost any weight, in fact I probably up a couple of pounds from when I started. But next time I started I want to stick to it 100%. I did back in 2011 and I was very successful. Anyway my point is if I didn’t stick to it but I was doing the injections do I still have to stay off for six weeks? I really would rather start sooner.

I am on day 3 but I have not weighed myself. I do feel a little lighter and have more energy. My question is in regards to a cheat day. If I were to ever cheat one day would it be better to start the diet from scratch again. When I say that I mean start from the loading days and follow through once again? Have you ever done that?
Lucelle says
Hi Kelly,
This is Lucelle, Rayzel’s assistant. Nice to meet you! 🙂
No, there’s no need to do a loading day if you have another cheat. Here’s the reason why for the loading phase: http://hcgchica.com/the-loading-phase-on-hcg-why/
I hope that helps somehow!
joann e tamasi says
i loaded and first day of vlcd i was starving si i went on a few more days still chearing i did abort on the fourth day its been over a week since y last shot i did preg test no hcg in system can i load again clean then start my vlcd since i tested neg for hcg
Lucelle says
Hi Joann,
This is Lucelle, Rayzel’s assistant. Nice to meet you! 🙂
It’s uncommon to test yourself with a pregnancy test and get a positive. Others do test the hCG directly and get a positive but this is something that discuss here: https://hcgchicahelphub.com/hcg-test-negative-on-a-pregnancy-test/
Hunger can also be a sign of wrong hCG dosage. For finding the right dosage for your body please read Rayzel’s detailed blog post here: hcgchica.com/dosage
This will help you on your journey.
Hope that helps!

I found this article reassuring as I am only on day six of P2 and have been asked out to dinner. I have already looked at the menu and decided on a meal. I don’t want to mess up and I’ve chosen a pretty reasonable choice, I am hoping I have little or no change but feel better after reading this, thank you!
Leisa Kaszczuk says
Aloha! I’m on my last week of shots and recently cheated ????. I’m up 4 lbs. and I’m stressed because I was sooo close to my goal of 125.
If I complete 2 steak days in a row, would this help me get back down?? I’m just disappointed in myself!!!
Your advice is greatly appreciated!
Respectfully yours,
Leisa
Li-An says
Hi Leisa,
Honestly, we can’t tell exactly if it will. But I would suggest just doing a very clean VLCD from now on. We can’t really predict anything on this diet, you just have to move on and do what is right!
Good luck!
Dana says
I have a question I am in phase 2 and I am on the hcg injections. I have not cheated and this is my second week I haven’t lost but 2 pounds in my second week, I lost 10 in my first week. I am sticking to the diet. Any tips? What am I doing wrong?
Li-An says
Hi Dana,
This is Li-an, Rayzel’s assistant. It is common that weight loss during the first week would be fastest and easiest because it also involves a lot of water weight loss. I would suggest just sticking to the plan and I would highly recommend reading/watching this video here: http://hcgchica.com/stalls-hcg-diet-not-losing-weight-2/
Good luck!
Arleen Blake says
I am on week 3 of p-2 injections. I am doing a 46 day round. Can I use the patch while I am on vacation and return to the injections when I get home.
Lucelle says
Yes, we’ve heard others who did well on hCG patch and it’s okay to switch hCG mid-round especially if the situation requires it. 🙂
Katelyn says
I protein cheated. I’m on my R1P2D7 VLCD, id already had my veggies, fruit and allotted 7oz of protein for the day, no Melba, I was still hungry and caved by eating a cup of egg whites (no fat microwaved the equivalent of 2 egg whites). I still stayed under 500 calories for the day but made me wonder if I stay within the calorie amount is cheating with little with protein on a bad day going to be that bad? Guess I will find out on the scale tomorrow! I think it’s because my dinner protein was shrimp today, not very filling. Going to stick with denser protein choices next week or soup to be more full. Love the miracle noodles suggestion in your articles going to pick some up this weekend for next week, I think I need to trick my eyes into thinking I’m eating more then the tiny bowl of shrimps I did tonight lol
Li-An says
Hi Katelyn,
If you are still within your calorie limits, that wouldn’t be a problem and protein is actually the best choice if you are to add something to the plan.
Good luck!

Malka says
Hi i am in my phase 2 i had a cheat day woulf i gain back all the weight loss? Should i leave this phase and take a break and start it again? Do i have to stick to 2 days still on 500 calories without hcg? After how many days can i restart the diet?
Li-An says
Hi Malka,
The answers to your questions are discussed in this blog post. I would suggest to restart right away and do very clean VLCD and do not cheat moving forward. Good luck!

Hi,
I am doing HCG injections with siesta beach diet…I do not count calories at all, just carbs. I eat just til satiety, and it is coming in at around 800-1000 calories a day. I’ve lost 7.2 pounds in 5 VLC days, didnt gain on the load days (ate extremely clean but healthy fats) and i feel fantastic. Im also using lipotropic injections. Im 55, post menopausal and have struggled so so much with weight loss. I have 40 total pounds to lose,..well now, 32.8 pounds. it has been painless. For me,, bc i didn’t want to stop exercising, this way has been great!

Hi!
So unfortunately I have into cravings last night and had buffalo wings with some ketchup ????????♀️ This morning I weighed myself and I gained 2.4lbs!!! I’m freaking out bc I feel like that’s a lot and now I feel like I’ll possibly stall now and I’m on week 3 of phase two and I only have one more week to go! Is there anything in particular I can do to try and get back on track?
Li-An says
Hi Dilahila!
This is Li-an, Rayzel’s assistant. It is actually written in this exact blog post. You may consider doing very clean vlcd from now on and move on!
Nikki says
I took my drops forgetting that I been drinking Seltzer water. What should I do?
Li-An says
Hi Nikki,
Are you referring to the 0-calorie seltzer water? If yes, that shouldn’t be much of a problem. Just move on and stick to the protocol.
Good luck!
Lynn says
Hello,
I messed up and loaded without taking the drops. Can I still continue?
Thanks!
Li-An says
Hi Lynn,
Yes, you can. Just get back straight on track and follow the protocol.

OKAY, so. I cheated today with 4 days left on HCG ):
I am currently at 124lbs and my goal, by the end of this phase is 120! IM WORRIED. I ate an einstein bagel and it did have cream cheese. I did read this page here and will be eating clean with no fruit for the next few days. Anything else I can do? What do you think about Lemon Water? yes? no? I am wondering what happens when you cheat with bread! I feel like that is PRETTY bad by itself. let alone, the cream cheese.
Li-An says
Hi Stephanie,
This is Li-an, Rayzel’s assistant. Nice to meet you! Honestly, the reaction of our bodies to cheats are very different from each other. I even heard some ladies who did not gain nor stall even after a cheat but of course, we are not advising to do it! Some ladies suggested doing Cali Kicker if it goes bad (you can easily find the recipe on Google). But other than that, please please do very clean VLCD in the next days.
hope that helps somehow!
Melissa says
I love your blog. So to fix a cheat…just eat clean and watch your water inntake? No Apple day, no steak day,no fage day or egg day? Just eat clean.
Li-An says
Hi Melissa!
You can also consider apple day/ steak day but the results could be subjective. Different people have different reactions to it. http://hcgchica.com/apple-days-hcg-diet-two-cheats-and-stalls/

Samantha says
I will be entering P3 in a few weeks. This also falls on my birthday. I have every intention of sticking to all the guidlines(even on my birthday) in regards to the food lists. However, I will most likely be going out to celebrate my birthday with friends, but will be sticking with healthy food choices all day with lots of water. How can I come back from a night out if I drink?
Thanks!
Li-An says
Hi Samantha,
This is Li-an, Rayzel’s assistant. nice to meet you! Most ladies find doing a steak/apple day to be helpful in case you go beyond the 2lb mark. Other than that, you can also do very clean eating the next coming days while making sure to be on plan as you get back on track. Hope that helps!
M says
So..do you ever incorporate fat again …such as – olive oil on salads , just a tablespoon 2x daily , what about .5 oz oat bran & 8 oz plain yogurt / or just a plant based food plan .. after using hcg ?
Leah says
I am totally blowing it in my third week. I wake up every morning with good intentions and fail by the end of the day. I am not hungry really but I think I’m reaching for an emotional habit kinda thing. Anyway I have blown it for a week now. What should I do!? Keep going and trying? Now that I am admitting it I will probably stay the course but have I totally ruined my rounds? I have two weeks left.
HCGChica says
Hi Leah,
I’m so sorry girl. I have been there, I know what it’s like – same thing- good intentions but then every day just falls apart. It really just depends to me on if you can find a way to really and truly and get back on track. Sometimes you are just emotionally spent and can’t find that way and in that case I feel it’s best to abort the round, take a break, and start fresh in several weeks. If you do want to try to see if you can turn over a new leaf, try to think of HOW you will do this logically- like you mentioned emotional habit thing you are reaching for- can you perhaps start making large quarts of flavored stevia teas, water and p2 type smoothies – all that have either zero calories only like 5-10 calories, and just consume lots of those to fill that void to help you not cheat? Love, Rayzel
Maddie says
I’m on day 4 of Phase 1 and one of my professors brought donuts to class… I just couldn’t resist, I had half a donut. Just this afternoon I had a small bite of my roommate’s edible cookie dough. My dad said it’ll hurt me the next couple days, but will I gain the 5 pounds I’ve already lost back?
Cristel says
Hi Maddie!
This is Cristel, Rayzel`s assistant. Nice to meet you! 🙂
No, I don’t think it will cause you to gain back the 5 lbs but you might gain a little or it might stall your weight loss for a few days. Rayzel actually has an article on her blog that I think will help you to fix a cheat: http://hcgchica.com/how-to-fix-cheat-on-hcg-diet/
Hope that helps!
Lisa says
Should I stop & restart in like a week? I’ve cheated terribly, & have horrible cravings due to my period coming? I’m sooo confused? Please help me! I was doing sooo good do I restart w loading days all over again?
Li-An says
Hi Lisa,
This is Li-an, Rayzel’s assistant. Nice to see you here 🙂
You may do an interruption which would max to 14 days and get back to P2 without having the need to load again. More details on short breaks or interruptions here: http://hcgchica.com/interruptions-on-the-hcg-diet-how-to-take-a-short-break-during-an-hcg-round/
Hope that helps! 🙂
SuziCreed says
I just never got around to mixing shots during loading!!!Toda began day 1 of P2 with a double shot hoping to regroup but Ive been exhausted!should I tuff it out with hcg working on fat stores providing usual energy or reload.Im concerned I wont have energy for the whole 6wks
Gen, hCGChica team buddy says
Hi Suzi,
Loading does seem to be pretty essential. Rayzel wrote a detailed blog post about what Dr. Simeons felt the loading achieved. You can find her post here:
http://hcgchica.com/the-loading-phase-on-hcg-why/ Basically, one of the main points is that Dr. Simeons felt that it is not about having enough fat reserves – we all do – but the key is the hormone knowing where to access these (at least this is what it seems). It’s hard from back then to now to know just how much of this is true or not. In the end, it’s your choice what you choose to experiment with.
One suggestion that Rayzel has is something that she chose to do which is to load, but to load clean, without any garbage/starches/sugars, and the end result is that you get whatever positive benefits to loading there may be, while not consuming crappy food AND usually the loading gain is VERY minimal from clean loading. You can find her post on how to do that here: http://hcgchica.com/loading-low-carb-clean-hcg-diet/
Hope that helps 🙂
Jennifer says
Hi Diane
Just wanted to let everyone know that the reason your body gains weight on a 500 calorie diet is that you are essentially putting yourself in starvation mode. Regardless of the hcg hormone when your body enters this phase anytime you cheat with little things over 500 calories your body thinks it’s starving and stores the food as fat for future use.
Diane says
HELP, I’m a hot mess! I have been the HCG diet for 21 days now and was going to start my second round, however the past week has been a huge struggle for me. A hurricane was heading our way, during the preparation and the event it self, I ate everything in site and missed taking my shot until late mornings for several days. I guess you could say I was stress eating. What can I do at this point? Do I start the next 21 days as if nothing happened and get myself back on track? Do I stop for awhile and restart after a certain period of time? Or do I start all over with the load and everything??? HELP I have 5 1/2 months to get to the weight I want to be for my wedding.
Gen, hCGChica team buddy says
Hi Diane,
Hope you and your family is safe from the hurricane. I am sorry you seem to be struggling badly with the diet. If you are stress eating, you may want to consider stopping hCG for a while? But if you feel like you can still do this without cheating and being really strict then you can still continue.
I’m sharing with you Rayzel’s article on how to fix a cheat: http://hcgchica.com/how-to-fix-cheat-on-hcg-diet – It’s not too late you know. And this one post, too, about cheating smarter: http://hcgchica.com/cheating-smarter-hcg-diet/
Hope that it helps you.

I’m with you. These hurricanes make for tough diet days!
Can anyone suggest what I should do after sliding off of the phase 2 program in the midst of Irma? I continued to take the drops although I didn’t follow the program. Should I have quit taking them? I gained the few measly pounds back that I had lost…but now, I want to start again.
Do I just start again with the drops after 5 days of eating whatever I wanted and gaining back the few pounds I had lost? Do I go off the drops and wait a while? People speak of a “cheat” but what about eating whatever you want for days and days and now, getting started again. Any suggestions if I should continue on the drops or stop completely. And for how long? I remain motivated to do it, but would like to avoid the loading days as it took me to an all time high and took 2 weeks to lose that extra gain.
Thanks everyone!

Hi Danielle,
Hope you and your family is safe from the hurricane. With the hurricane as it is, it can be quite a challenge to really follow the program. If you feel like this might make it harder for you, you may want to consider stopping hCG for a while and it’s okay. Essentially, what you are doing is an interruption, which Rayzel discussed further in her post here: http://hcgchica.com/interruptions-on-the-hcg-diet-how-to-take-a-short-break-during-an-hcg-round/
Hope that it helps you decide what you want to do.
