For this episode, I’m going to tell you a little bit about how the hCG diet interviews came to be and we’re also going to take a little trip down memory lane and feature a compilation of the hCG diet results from the past sixty-one interviews
I know, I know, it probably would have been cooler to wait for the 100th episode before doing something like this (and I’m sure I’ll do something like this again by then) but since it’s still a ways off, I figured this will be a fun thing to do for now.
Anyway, 61 EPISODES! Wow! (yeahhhh – and because I’m forever late on things, by the time I’m publishing this we are actually at 73 episodes lol) I can’t believe it’s been over five years since I posted my first hCG interview. Hard to believe I’ve been doing it for that long.
Again, we will just be highlighting the diet results of all our past interviewees, so if you want to see the actual interviews and read about their inspiring journeys in full, you can always visit hCG Diet Success Stories where you can find all the full length episodes.
Here’s the compilation of snippets from many of the interviews!

Some People Get Their Best Ideas In The…
I can still remember how I got the idea to interview people about their experience with hCG. It came to me one day, five or six years ago, when I got into the shower. Yep, you heard that right. I got into the shower and the idea just popped into my head. But hey, they say most people get their best ideas in the shower, right? Anyway, there I was and I thought, why don’t I interview people about their experience doing the hCG diet? I guess part of what triggered that idea was the fact that my blog had been running for a while by then and I have posted a lot of videos but they were all of me talking about my journey and my results. And, of course, after five to six years there’s only so much new stuff I can say about my experience (and I really didn’t want you guys to get sick of me). I wanted to continue creating fresh inspiration for all of you that will motivate and help you in your own journey, so I thought, “why not ask people who’ve had real success with weight loss on hCG about their experiences?” Enough about me! Let’s talk about YOU.
As much as I loved the idea, it was pretty nerve-wracking for me because it was one thing for me to record a video talking about myself and another to actually talk to someone, ask questions, and pretend I’m doing a live show where my audience is there watching and listening to us right at that moment (I’ve never liked acting). So the idea of pre-recording an interview was quite daunting for me at first.
I’m not really sure how I chose Sabrina, the first lady I interviewed, but I think I sent her a message on Facebook and she was open to doing it. As soon as she agreed to share her hCG experience, I went ahead and immediately did my research on how to record a Skype video and all of that stuff which, luckily, I figured out soon enough (with a few tech issues here and there, so I got my husband involved since he’s good with that stuff).
My first interview turned out pretty good and I was satisfied with it. However, my next concern was I wasn’t sure how my readers would react to it. I kept wondering if they would actually be interested and watch or read the interview or they’d ignore it because it wasn’t such a good idea after all. Anyway, I went ahead and posted that first interview along with its transcript and as it turned out, my audience loved it. (Whew!)
Since then, I have gotten a lot of great feedback about these hCG diet interviews and I have even received messages from ladies telling me that they watch one interview a day while on the hCG diet as a way for them to stay motivated. It’s such an amazing and cool feeling to know that these success stories are benefiting a lot of you guys out there. And hey, if you’re doing an 8-week round, with 61 episodes, you can totally watch one interview a day and not run out! You can even start while doing the hCG loading phase to take your mind off the initial weight gain ;).
Overcoming The Jitters
I was so nervous when I did my first interview. Since I didn’t know how Sabrina was going to answer my questions, I kept wondering what I was going to say back or how I was going to respond to her answers? What if it feels weird or awkward for the both of us?
What I decided to do during that first interview (and which I continued doing for the first, I don’t know, probably 1/3 or 1/2 of all the interviews) is do two Skype calls. The first call would be sort of like a trial run where we would just be talking and I would be asking them questions to learn about their experience. The second Skype call would be the actual recorded interview. This method worked great for me and made me feel confident enough and comfortable doing the interview, however, it took A LOT of time, not only for me but also for the people I interviewed. I can’t really express how much I appreciated their patience and consideration to take time out of their day to do two Skype calls with me.
Eventually, as things with hcgchica have continued to grow and expand I have found myself really up against a wall at times with my TIME. Like just not having enough of it. We homeschool our son, I have health issues, and I don’t want to work full time. One big time suck was this 2-call interview thing. So while troubleshooting where I could cut back without losing how much I produced for you guys, I finally got to the point where I felt I could do an interview in just one Skype call. I had become more and more comfortable just because I had done it many times by then.
In my current state NOW, I can’t even imagine why I had to do two skype calls before! It just seems so silly to me now as opposed to how I originally felt about conducting and recording interviews. Now, I enjoy it so much and I just love talking to everyone about their hCG success stories – their triumphs and struggles, getting to know them, their background, who they are, what they do, what their family is like, how they deal with any health or emotional issues, etc. There is nothing nervewracking about it, it’s just purely enjoyable having these conversations with you high quality ladies. All of those things are so interesting to learn about because all of these people, all of us, have everyday lives that we deal with in tandem with our hCG journey. Hearing from other people how they go about their daily lives and the hCG process helps us see how we can start and accomplish our own journey.
Sharing Your Stories
Aside from overcoming my anxiety at doing interviews, another struggle I had (which I still have to this day) is finding people who want to share their hCG experience. Although I’ve featured a lot of amazing people and their results on my blog, you’d be surprised how difficult it is to actually get guests to be interviewed.
Something I’ve learned, which I find sort of frustrating, is that a lot of us ladies do not think enough about our weight loss experience. What I mean by that is, most of us don’t really think of our results as anything significant enough to share and it baffles me.
I send out a lot of emails commending ladies about their hCG results, asking if they would like to share their experience, and how happy I’d be to talk to them and feature them on the show and guess what, I hardly get any responses!
I find it surprising that most of these women are not making a big enough deal about their weight loss success. I mean, when you achieve something remarkable that can greatly motivate others who also want to lose weight, it should be celebrated, YOU should be celebrated and you should feel accomplished.
But I guess a lot of people do tend to downplay their accomplishments. I wish we’d put more value into the effort we put into transforming ourselves and our lives because we really should. You ought to be impressed and amazed with yourself because following this protocol is hard. Believe me, I know. My own journey was not easy. This diet takes a lot of emotional and mental strength.
As you all know, I have been maintaining for 5 years now, but I can still remember my struggles from before I went on the hCG diet and while I was on it. I was overweight, I had binge eating disorder that I wasn’t sure I could overcome, I failed my second round, and I cheated a lot. it was so hard. When you guys go through something like that and while on your journey you figure out your own way to overcome those hurdles, that says a lot about you. The type of character and strength it takes to decide and commit to making a change like that in yourself, says a lot. That’s why I hope you’ll have so much more pride in yourself and the fact that you’re making the attempt to make this big change in your life.
For all of you who have shared your story, THANK YOU SO MUCH for motivating so many of us. And for those of you who are thinking of sharing yours, THANK YOU and we look forward to it. We would love to hear your experience and all the tips and tricks you can share to help other hCGers stick to the diet.
Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy this special episode and here’s to more interviews to come! 🙂
I mentioned that in my second round, I screwed up. I went back to binge eating after my round two loading phase. It was then that I found out that regular loading did not work for me and that is why I did clean loading. Learn more about clean loading in this blog post and see if it is for you as well.
