These are short testimonials of ladies who’ve written in their hCG diet results to me for quick motivation.
——————————–
I’m sorry, but can we all just take a moment and agree how striking this woman is? Sorry Laurie- I didn’t mean to embarrass you really, but it’s too late now. We’re all thinking it anyway, might as well say it! And I’m pretty sure if you played the guess-my-age game you would be way off mark- she’s 45 years old btw.
The change she has made in her life with hCG is nothing short of AMAZING. And yet, it’s not so amazing that you can’t achieve something similar. That’s what these interviews are all about- talking with everyday people like you and I. If you aren’t already subscribed to her, you can follow Laurie’s hCG journey almost from start to finish at Laurie’s youtube channel hhCGcrazy. The homeopathic pellets that she and therefore I, feel safe recommending as being true homeopathic hCG is hcgbottle.com (see info below about the importance of having a trusted source for this). For those of you who want to go the prescription hCG route, you can see my current recommendations for reliable hCG Injections here.
Where to Get Real hCG Pellets and Drops
One online company that has been in business 14 years sells both hCG drops, hCG pellets/pills, and hCG injections all in prescription real hormone form- go here for that info.
Laurie’s Basic hCG Diet Weight loss Results:
Laurie is 5’4″ tall, and started her January 18, 2011: 204 lbs, 5’4″ tall.
She is 121 lbs today, which is a total loss of over 80 lbs. She went from a tight size 15/16 to a comfy size 3 in jeans. Watch the video and you will see just how tiny she is now.
She lost the majority of her weight in only 3 rounds of this protocol- she got down to 127 lbs. Like many of us she has done a couple fine-tuning rounds since then (see my post on How Quickly Can You Get to a Normal Weight with the hCG Diet).
All her weight loss has been with homeopathic hCG pellets, and the source she feels confident recommending right now is hcgbottle.com.
Where to Find Real Homeopathic hCG
I get questions sometimes from those searching for a reliable source of homeopathic hCG- unfortunately it is very difficult to be sure of a homeopathic hCG product because there are so many fraudulent ones out there or that are seriously false-advertised and misleading, and you cannot test homeopathic hCG with a pregnancy test like you can prescription hCG (homeopathics function on an entirely different level and different way). And you definitely don’t want to do the diet without either real prescription hCG or real homeopathic hCG. You would notice a HUGE difference believe me.
Many people, especially prescription hCG users, do not believe in homeopathic hCG at all and think homeopathic itself is “fake.” I don’t personally agree with this (even though I have only used prescription hCG for my own weight loss journey) as I have seen some pretty miraculous overnight healing of my son’s eczema overnight on more than one occasion using certain homeopathic remedies. It’s always easy to not believe in something that is not easily understood, but that does not mean it has no merit. I don’t necessarily think homeopathic hCG will work in the same way on every single person, but I do think for some, great results can be had.
Laurie’s results with the protocol made me a believer in real homeopathic hCG. She has obviously lost her abnormal fat folks. You can see her body structure beneath all that fat is a very lean, slightly muscular frame. Additionally, the biggest proof to me is that she (and other real homeopathic hCG users) had the no-hunger effect that human chorionic gonadotropin causes. If you ate to hunger on any given day (by that I mean, only ate when you were hungry, stopped when you were satisfied), there is NO WAY you would eat only 500 calories. Yet that is what people like Laurie does on the protocol, because she’s simply not hungry for more. Without the hormone in her system, she would obviously be hungry for more than 500 calories.
The current company that I feel safe to recommend for homeopathic hCG now based on Laurie’s trial with it is hcgbottle.com. Laurie has always used homeopathic PELLETS not drops, and I highly recommend the pellets over the drops as well- with the pellets it’s much easier to ensure that you get the full dose of the hormone you need- drops are not as effective because much can be wasted through accidentally swallowing some of the liquid etc- it’s hard to keep liquid under your tongue where it needs to be to absorb through your oral mucosa, but it’s much easier to this with pellets. So I say, go for the pellets!
Increasing Calories on the hCG Diet When You are Getting Closer to “GOAL” Weight Range
Laurie found, as you may as well, that as she got to the point where she had very little weight left to lose, she needed to increase her calories above and beyond the 500 calories. Compare that to earlier in her weightloss journey with this protocol when she found some days she could eat as little as 250 calories because she simply wasn’t hungry for more (see Can You Eat Less Than 500 Calories on the hCG Diet?) If you haven’t done this diet plan yet and are still in the research phase it’s probably hard to believe that you could possible eat only 250 calories and not be hungry, but it’s totally true- I have found myself doing the same exact thing. Just simply not hungry at all, and had regular energy as if I had eaten 1500-2000 calories. It’s simply amazing.
But as your fat stores get used up and you get much smaller, your body might start to tell you that you need to eat a little more- barring any dosing issues with this hormone (see my hCG dosing guide– this is more for rx users than homeopathic though but will explain how you should feel on the right dose), you might have to increase your calories to more like 600, 700, perhaps even 800 calories as you lose those last 10-15 lbs or so.
The way Laurie discovered this is because her weight stalled out for like 3 weeks straight, and she finally realized after seeing this happen and reading the book I think ALL hCGers should read Weight-Loss Apocalypse: Emotional Eating Rehab Through the hCG Protocol, that eating a little more was in order.
What to Add When You Need Extra Calories on the hCG Diet
She added 3 egg whites in the morning, and then increased her protein at lunch and dinner to about 4.5 oz’s (from the regular 3.5 ounces we would usually eat). This was not necessarily an every single day thing. Some days she needed to eat more calories by including the above, but some days she wasn’t hungry so she would stick with the 500 calories- that’s why going by hunger is so efficient because instead of worrying about how much you should eat, you let hunger be your guide.
Towards the end she says she was eating 700-800 calories. You don’t have to be fearful of this if it’s what your body needs.
Just to reiterate again though, usually if you are still quite overweight, the majority of people won’t typically need more than the 500 calories- that is more for when you are getting down to a low weight. If you are too hungry on the protocol while being fairly overweight still, this is most likely a dose issue- it’s very important to get the proper dose of the hormone for your body and can require a little tweaking and guesswork till you find it.
Speed of Weightloss on hCG
Weightloss on hCG is not consistent in the sense of losing a certain amount of weight every single day. You WILL have days of staying the same weight, for several days even. Especially as you get closer to the normal weight range for your height, weightloss can slow dramatically- you really just have to be patient and realize that it will take time, even on the diet.
Comparison of Losing and Maintaining Weightloss with hCG vs. other diets
Laurie told me that she has been dieting on and off most of her life. I heard someone the other day mention the term “yo-yo dieter” in a derogatory way, as if people are purposefully yo-yo dieting for no reason or that it is somehow their fault that they needed to go on frequent diets. It made me feel sad and a little indignant because, as Laurie’s experience in life bears out, many women are basically forced in to yo-yo dieting because they simply can’t keep excess weight off, no matter how much they exercise or how much they count calories. There is something “broken” if you will, inside their body system that is not allowing them to maintain a healthy weight doing the normal things that other people do. Individuals who have never had this struggle probably won’t understand it, and so a certain portion of the population will continue to be misunderstood.
While she lost weight with all the other diets she did, Laurie says she was never able to maintain the weightloss without exercising her life away and being totally obsessed with what she put in her mouth on a daily basis. Even then she said many times she still wouldn’t be able to keep the weight off. Exercise is great of course, but it’s not something that you should have to slave away at just to stay in a healthy weight range.
Very soon after starting the protocol though, she noticed a big difference- it was different than anything she had every tried before (and she had tried MANY different diets and workout programs).
That’s why she (and I) believe this is much for than a diet about weightloss. The hCG is a hormone and is affecting your body in a deeper way that allows this ability to truly maintain weightloss like other normal people.
It’s been 2.5 years since she started the protocol, and she has found maintaining within a healthy 120-130lb weight range has been very easy- she doesn’t HAVE to exercise (just does it if she wants) and she’s able to eat a normal amount of calories and not be hungry all the time. In the past, she would have to be basically live her life feeling hungry and starving all the time just to keep the weight off. It’s not a constant daily struggle anymore to stay in this weight range and she estimates the last time she was 120ish lbs as she is now she was in 2nd or 3rd grade. She was 172 lbs by 6th grade. So she has never been this weight and size in her entire adult life.
So this is basically the first time in her whole life that she’s been able to maintain a healthy weight while eating a regular amount of food, and just living her life comfortably instead of being consumed.
How the hCG Protocol Taught Her
Laurie feels that the protocol really taught her to change her life long term. The process of eating REAL foods on P2 (the losing weight portion of the diet plan)- there is nothing pre-packaged, etc., and then the required breaks in between future rounds, teaches you to prepare and eat healthy foods that you will be eating the rest of your life.
Reasons for Losing Weight Have Changed
In the past her reasons for losing weight, as a young woman, didn’t really have to do with health, which I think we’d all agree is pretty common. Her dad died when he was 51 from an aortic anyuerism. He had high blood pressure and was overweight his entire life. She saw much of herself in him and at 45 years of age, she started thinking about what could happen to her if her life continued the same way.
What Are the Some of the Reasons People Fail on the hCG Diet?
Laurie mentions one problem she sees with some who go on this weight loss protocol is that they view it as just another diet. Without fully researching it and learning about the different phases and what each phase is supposed to accomplish and don’t really realize and believe that hCG is a hormone doing something deeper than just causing some weightloss. She feels that sometimes people get misled about the properties of homeopathic hCG and think that it’s not “real” so that means they can cheat more and not have the same bad effects that cheating on prescription hCG would cause, and she feels this really isn’t the case. She has observed the feelings and experiences of those on prescription hCG and real homeopathic hCG and she really feels they are the same- meaning if you cheat while using homeopathic hCG, you will be messing yourself up hormonally.
Many people do not follow the P3 guidelines strictly, which she feels and I agree is CRUCIAL to stabilizing and maintaining the weightloss. P3 is such an important time not just to stabilize but to learn and teach yourself what you are going to the rest of your life to maintain. It’s a time to find new recipe to replace old stand-by’s full of sugar or wheat that you used to eat. Pinterest is a great place to find recipes for Phase 3 and a healthy Phase 4.
Eating 500 calories with hCG vs. 1200 calories without hCG- Does it FEEL Different?
She has done diets in the past where she would be eating between 1000-1400 calories (years before discovering the protocol) and she says she literally felt starving all the time- it just wasn’t enough food. Compare that to her experience of eating just 500 calories, sometimes even just 250 calories while on the protocol and she wasn’t hungry at all!
That was actually her biggest fear as she prepared to try the weight loss protocol for the first time- she had been having to starve herself for so many years and was just so tired of it, she didn’t want to be hungry. She was amazed that she truly wasn’t hungry. And I have to agree with this- once you experience this hormone first hand, there really is no question, hCG simply CAN’T be a placebo when the feeling of hunger is SO vastly different than without it. Thousands of hCGers aren’t making this up!
There is even MORE to our discussion so I hope you’ll just watch the interview. Laurie has had such a journey- not just with hCG itself but her whole life history with weight issues that we can all learn a lot from her.
Thank you so much Laurie for letting me pick your brain!

I so agree re Laurie. I don’t know about me lol- thank you for the compliment- I do a lot of “editing” to get rid of me figuring out what to do next while recording the interview lol. :)-

Absolutely inspiring!!! I lost 35lbs & about 31 inches overall (so far) with Round 1 🙂 Can’t wait to finish Phase 3 & move on to Round 2!!! Best of all, I was able to have (technically, I DID do a steak day one day) NO GAIN DURING A 7-day Cruise as I weighed my “maintenance weight” at the end!!! I was only on Week 2 of P3, so started over for the 6-weeks but I still feel it was a “positive” situation. I brought my scale with me 🙂
Rayzel Lam says
Thank you for sharing Michele! Wow that really is an accomplishment doing so well on that cruise- usually that is everyone’s undoing. Truly amazing. Sounds like you were smart about it. Hope to have you keep checking in- I am always looking for new interview victims. 😉
