Adding just a little xantham gum and guar gum to your smoothie can make it nice and thick like the “real” smoothies I no longer eat made with poisons like ice cream and sugar. I found just 1/8th tsp. of xantham gum and 1/4 tsp. of guar gum seems to be a good amount for the smoothies I make.
Hi guys! I wanted to show you my blueberry smoothie MsHcgGirl recipe, in this big mug. I just got back from my Zumba class so this is my little recovery drink. I want to show you how thick it is, see that? Do you know why it’s so thick? That’s because I put a little bit of xanthan gum. Well it’s backwards so it’s not gonna help you is it. Xantham gum and guar gum. You can buy them online. The Xantham gum I only cut like a little bit over an 8th of a teaspoon in my whole thing, my whole smoothie ended up like a little over 4 cups and the guar gum I put a little over a quarter of a teaspoon. It’s just a tiny bit but it just makes this really thick smoothie and less will make it less thick and more would make it even thicker. Also I ordered whey protein powder on Vitacost and they have like a flat rate of 4.99 shipping fee which is just so awesome. Anyway I bought this protein powder and when it comes, oh my goodness! It’s like twice the size of my head. It’s huge. This whole thing cost 34 dollars and has 68 serving, so that means it’s like basically 16 dollars for a whole month which is like 50 cents a day. Which is really good. And the reason I got this one, it’s called NSI. It’s a really good brand they have a lot of different herbs that we take too. But what’s nice about it is it has very few ingredients and the only sweeteners are xylitol and stevia and other than that all it has is lecithin, natural flavor and then the three ingredients that have to deal with the actual whey protein. That’s all. There’s no other weird additives that’s why I liked it. And it has 5 grams of carbohydrates for one serving and it has 22 grams of protein. I just want to show that to you guys because I think it’s pretty good deal. 50 cents a serving and it doesn’t have any weird additives and the sweeteners are healthier ones. I was just surprise when it came, how humongous it was. That’s all I wanted to share. I’m gonna finish eating my smoothie now. Bye!
